AVO Bogoslof ORANGE/WATCH - Unrest continues.

5:05 pm Eastern | U.S. News

Aug 23, 2017 19:52 - Unrest continues at Bogoslof Volcano. Nothing noteworthy as been observed in mostly cloudy satellite data over the past day. However, during some eruptive periods, lava effusion has been followed by additional ...read more »

5:05 pm Eastern | U.S. News

Aug 23, 2017 19:52 - Unrest continues at Cleveland Volcano. Nothing of note was observed in satellite and web camera images throughout the past day and the volcano has been quiet since the explosion that occurred yesterday at 10:43 AKDT. Cleveland volcano is monitored with a limited real-time seismic network, which inhibits AVO's ability to detect precursory unrest that may lead to an explosive eruption. Rapid detection of an ash-producing eruption may be possible using a combination of seismic, infrasound, lightning, and satellite data.read more »
